MASI'S AMARONE: HOW ARE YOU LIVING? - March 26, 2008
Sandro Boscaini is the consummate ambassador of amarone. His knowledge of the subject of amarone, how and why it's made, and why it's respected all over the world, is matched only by the quality of the wines he makes under the name Masi. He knows his wines are good. He doesn't need to gloat or brag; his wines easily do that for him. Enjoying amarone is living well, but tasting multiple bottlings of Masi's cru amaroni is living right. I recently has the opportunity to 'live right' with Boscaini over lunch. One nugget that Boscaini shared about amarone, (a mandatory blend of semi-dried corvina, rondinella, and molinara grapes) is that the fermentation of the three happens together and not separately as many blends do. reviews inside |
